Hi, we're Emily and John! Here's the bit of our website where we tell you about ourselves, so bear with us while we talk about how great we are.
We worked together for five years before deciding to set up Script and Serif. In that time we put together countless magazines and even created and launched one all by ourselves. This magazine did so well that we were nominated for PPA Cover of the Year. Two years in a row. And we came second. Two years in a row. We were up against magazines such as Tatler, Elle and Shortlist. And you know what? We beat them all. Big up the underdogs. We also actually won a few awards too, but we're not ones to brag, so we'll leave it there.
In short, we absolutely love magazines and we could talk the hind leg off a donkey about them. After a few years of everyone predicting they would die out, magazines are now more popular than ever.
And we want to make them more obtainable than ever. Emily created a magazine for her own wedding in September 2015 and received so many positive comments that she started to think it might be something other people would like.
So, if you want everyone to leave your wedding, christening, anniversary party, big birthday or even your dog's birthday with a spring in their step, and a little warm glow, then get in touch.
No matter your budget, we can make you something that will blow people's socks off. Whether you want something simple that's eight pages long, or you want an all-singing, all-dancing, illustrated, gold-plated, super-personalised sexy little number, we're here to make all your print-based dreams come true. Have a look at the stuff we’ve produced so far – but don’t worry if what you want isn’t there. Our skills know no bounds and we like a challenge. So drop us an email and say hello!
Here's a bit of information about us, which will mean we're practically friends already.
Who We Are
Loves, in no particular order, anything by Apple, pilates, her trusty Nutribullet, Farrow & Ball paint, Diptique candles, Cos jumpers, Oxford, Chanel nail varnish, all cake, New York, hydrangeas and her Jenny Packham wedding dress. Which is in no way treated as a shrine.
Mastermind specialist subject would be dog breeds. Grew up with eight dogs, which led to former colleagues referring to her as the 'girl raised by wolves'. Now lives with one sausage dog called Mortimer.
Has been in love with magazines ever since she bought her first copy of Smash Hits and read it under the duvet with a torch.
Has read A LOT of books. Need advice on romantic poetry to send loved ones? She's your gal.
Knows all the word to 'No Diggity' and will happily perform it for you, given half a chance.
Got game by the pound.
Borderline obsessed with Batman. When he's not rewatching the films, he is listening to the soundtracks. He says he has never dressed up as Batman and doesn't own a costume. We're not sure we believe him.
One of those strange people who actually enjoys going to the gym.
Because of the former point, he pretty much eats what he wants, for every meal. Sickening.
Loves a BBC three-part drama. Can’t get enough of them.
Brilliant photographer. His favourite thing in the whole world is going on photoshoots with Emily, who gets excited about every exposed brick wall she sees. He never gets tired of that.
When he's not going to the gym, pretending to be Batman, preparing for the birth of his firstborn, taking photos or designing kickass magazines, he's training to be a wrestler and practicing his magic skills.
All of the above is true.
