Why should I have a magazine?
Your wedding is the time to show off your personalities and style. It’s difficult to be original nowadays, but this is a sure-fire way to really knock people's socks off. No one likes sugared almonds; give people something really special instead, that you can keep and show your grandchildren. Life doesn’t start at marriage: you’ve already created a life together. Tell everyone all about it.
How does it work?
We'll have a chat about your options and once you're happy we'll ask you nicely to pay 20% of the total cost up front as a deposit. From this point onwards, you can add to the magazine as much as you like, and we'll amend the invoice accordingly, but unfortunately you can't take anything away. We'll send you our amazing 'Quiz of Taste', which is just a bit of fun so we can get an idea of your likes and dislikes. Once we've designed the pages we'll pop you lots of PDFs across so you can check you're happy - or we will keep it to ourselves if you'd rather it was a surprise on the big day...
What type of paper should I go for?
The options are gloss, silk and matte. As a rule, we have a soft spot for matte: it gives a lovely modern feel to the magazine. However, if you want to include lots of dark, black and white images, silk or gloss might be better – matte paper is more absorbent, so it makes dark images appear even darker. It’s completely up to you; you can even go for a different material for the cover and the inner pages, if the mood strikes. We can advise at the end of the process what we think would work best.
I’ve got an idea for the magazine – can I suggest things?
Of course you can! We don’t bite: whatever ideas you’ve got, we want to hear them.
How will they be delivered?
They will come directly from the printers, fresh off the press - just let us know where you'd like them sent.
I want to write/draw something for the magazine but I’m worried you will laugh…
Trust us, we’re past being shocked by anything. And we certainly won’t laugh: our main aim is to make sure you’re happy, and laughing in your face wouldn’t be a nice way to achieve that, would it? Besides, Emily once had to don a cow costume for a photoshoot – she’s completely lost the right to laugh at anyone…
What if my writing is rubbish?
We can help, if you want us to. We’ll keep it to ourselves and let you take all the credit.
What are the benefits of having a photoshoot with us?
Lots. If we’re designing a magazine for you, it works really
well if John takes some images for it, as he can picture how things will look on the page. If you’re getting married it’s more practice for the big day and it will give you another set of images in a different location. If you’ve already had an engagement shoot, we’re more than happy to use those
images, but the option for more images is there if you’d like it. We don’t mind what your reasons are – even if it’s just
that you’d like some nice images of your face because you’re sick of grainy selfies.
Will you travel for photoshoots?
As a rule, we do our shoots in the Midlands, as that’s the spot we know and it’s where our houses are. However, if there is somewhere you really want your photos taken we will happily make sure our vaccinations are up to date and venture past Birmingham. We might need to charge some petrol money – but get in touch and ask, and we’ll give you a quote.
I like your style and I’d quite like you to design my invitations/menus/place cards/orders of services too – do you do that?
Hell yes! We are currently working on some invitation designs, but in the meantime drop us a note and tell us what you’re looking for. We’d love to help.
What about newspapers? I’m not really a fan of magazines…
We do those too! And they look incredibly cool, so definitely get in touch. Extra points if you want it to look like the Daily Prophet…
